Why cisterns for LPG storage are placed under the ground?

Underground location of a gas tank which is destined to store LPG (LPG – Liquid Petroleum Gas; GPL – Gaz Petroleum Liquide), is determined by the necessity to maintain positive temperature inside a cistern. They are temperatures required for boiling and evaporating of liquefied gas.

Gas tank is a two walls cistern (bulb in bulb) which is produced according to patented technology. The space between the walls of the cistern is fulfilled with special composition which does not disturb heat exchange and allows inside bulb to «absorb» the heat of the ground. And only observance of this important condition provides the boiling and evaporating of liquefied petroleum gas. Using of deep-earth (till 3 meters) thermal potential of the ground to heat liquefied petroleum gas is also possible thanks to special «Marsupio» bag.

The same reasons define underground installation of gas pipeline which is installed on the territory of the lot - gas pipeline is mounted lower than the depth of ground freezing (1.5-1.7 meters) in the trenches.
